Shogo Yoshii & Ensemble

Shogo Yoshii

We seek to elevate the power of roots music and the elegance own of the Japanese cultural tradition to a refined form of musical entertainment, without losing the essence of either of these two elements. Our shows combine high technical quality, a clear and dynamic staging, and a constant energy that deeply moves the audience from a cultural and artistic perspective. On this occasion, we present "EarthVoice," the duo project formed by the taiko percussionist Shogo Yoshii and the shimauta singer from Amami Ōshima Marina Hirata. Inspired by the music of the islands, considered one of the roots of Japanese music, they offer a sound universe that is simple and at the same time full of richness and depth. In addition to taikos and traditional flutes, the show incorporates instruments such as the sanshin, the rokushin and the traditional Amami harp, creating a wide variety of musical landscapes. For this special occasion, the project is expanded with an ensemble of four musicians focused on taikos and shinobue. A proposal that combines strength, sensitivity and artistic refinement to fill Matsuri Barcelona with energy and emotion.
